Stuart
Walbridge
Stuart
obtained a first class honours degree in Electrical and Electronic
Engineering at the University of Birmingham in the UK and then an MBA from
Cornell University in the USA, where he was a Walter C. Teagle Memorial
scholar. He joined
Unilever in
London
and, after assuming a number of senior financial and
commercial positions, became Commercial Director and then Managing
Director of Unilever’s business in
New Zealand
. He is
also an accountant, having become a Fellow member of the Chartered
Institute of Management Accountants in the
UK
.
Deciding
to remain in
New Zealand
, he became Operations Manager of Brierley Investments
and then COO of the Skellerup Group, specialising in restructuring,
mergers, acquisitions and disposals. After
a short period in another local investment company, he spent 3 years in
Asia
consulting on financial and IT projects.
He has spent considerable time managing companies in
New Zealand
, often as CEO, as well as being on the boards of many
public and private companies covering a very wide range of activities.
Stuart is particularly interested in strategic analysis; project
initiation, evaluation, and implementation; and in using his operational
experience to assist in solving the many real-life problems faced by
company management and boards.
